Rubbish Clearance Docklands Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the approach taken by Rubbish Clearance Docklands to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights, and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
Rubbish Clearance Docklands has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, servitude, and human trafficking. We do not accept, support, or condone any practice that exploits people or undermines their basic rights and freedoms.
All directors, managers, employees, and contractors are expected to uphold this policy. We clearly communicate our expectations to our workforce and to all third parties acting on our behalf. Any breach of this policy will be treated as a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action, contract termination, and, where appropriate, reporting to the relevant authorities.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Rubbish Clearance Docklands provides waste and rubbish clearance services across Docklands and surrounding areas. Our operations depend on a range of suppliers and service providers, including vehicle and equipment suppliers, waste processing facilities, recruitment and labour agencies, and providers of uniforms, fuel, and other consumables.
We recognise that risks can arise at multiple points in the supply chain, particularly where temporary labour, subcontracted services, or overseas manufacturing are involved. We are committed to identifying, assessing, and mitigating these risks in a systematic and ongoing manner.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all our suppliers and contractors to operate to high ethical standards and to comply with all applicable laws relating to modern slavery and human trafficking. As part of our supplier management process, we:
Communicate our zero-tolerance stance and require suppliers to confirm that they do not engage in any form of modern slavery or exploitation. Seek to work with suppliers who can demonstrate robust policies, procedures, and controls to prevent modern slavery within their own operations and supply chains. Reserve the right to request information and evidence from suppliers regarding their labour practices, recruitment processes, and working conditions.
Where we identify higher-risk relationships or sectors, we may carry out more detailed checks, including on-site audits or enhanced due diligence. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to meet our expectations, we will consider ending the relationship and seeking alternative providers.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Rubbish Clearance Docklands encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers, and members of the public to report any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. We provide clear internal routes for raising concerns, either through line managers or senior management, and we are developing additional confidential channels to make reporting easier.
Reports will be treated seriously and handled sensitively. We will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. Where a concern indicates a potential case of modern slavery, we will investigate promptly and, where appropriate, escalate the matter to law enforcement or other relevant agencies.
Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to building awareness of modern slavery risks across our business. Relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management, are informed of the signs of modern slavery and the steps to take if they suspect exploitation.
We aim to improve our processes continuously by learning from industry best practice, updates in legislation, and feedback from stakeholders. Our commitment to a culture of integrity and respect underpins all of these efforts.
Annual Review and Governance
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by the leadership of Rubbish Clearance Docklands to ensure it remains accurate, effective, and aligned with our operational realities and legal obligations. As part of the review, we assess the effectiveness of our controls, consider any incidents or concerns raised, and identify opportunities to strengthen our approach.
Following each review, we may update our policies, supplier requirements, training materials, and reporting mechanisms. By doing so, Rubbish Clearance Docklands aims to continually enhance its efforts to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking and to promote fair and respectful treatment of all individuals connected to our business.
